Amy Shetler
CHAIRPERSON
Amy has taught, substituted, and been a volunteer in the North Carolina public school system for 26 years. She believes that schools need to focus attention on growing students' knowledge, and returning our elementary schools to grammar schools. Amy knows that starting a school rooted in a classical curriculum will give students the knowledge they need to become critical thinkers who are effective problem solvers. Amy holds a BS degree in Elementary Education (1-8)l License Add-on for Gifted Education and receives continual IB training.

Amy Granata
VICE CHAIRPERSON
Amy earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication with a Public Relations concentration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is a proponent of school choice and strongly believes that children in our community will benefit from an American classical education paired with Dogwood’s values of virtue, integrity, citizenship and scholarship. Amy enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering with her church and within the community.

Greg Fornshell
TREASURER
Originally from Weddington, North Carolina, Greg studied at North Carolina State University, where he graduated with a BS in Finance with Minors in Spanish and International Studies. He and his wife Brittany live in Raleigh, NC with their son Grahat, and two dogs, Oscar and Emmy. Growing up with his mother as a teacher and his older sister eventually becoming a teacher, he has learned about the important role of education both as a participant and an educator.

Gina Behrens
Gina is an urban educational analyst and entrepreneur. Her own education in Science and Literature supports her interdisciplinary approach to design and strategy. She is committed to realizing the transformational possibilities inherent in every life situation. Gina builds for human thriving and cares deeply about people on the margins. Her additional academic work is in Liberal Arts, Leadership and in Curriculum. She is excited about prioritizing rigorous content, virtue and beauty in K-12 educational practice. She holds the following degrees: MA in Administration and Supervision from DePaul University, Chicago; an MA Liberal Studies, University of Detroit, MI; English major University of Windsor, Ontario; BSc Biological Sciences Unspecialized, University of Guelph, Ontario.

François Payen
François is a Project Capital Portfolio & Engineering Manager for a lithium engineering company in Charlotte. He was born and raised in Haiti where he attended a classical school which fostered his love for learning. François is fluent in French, Spanish and English. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from NYU Tandon School of Engineering; a Master’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison; and additional training from MIT Sloan School of Management, Wharton Executive Education, Harvard University, Universidad de Oviedo, and Université Blaise Pascal (Clermont-II) - Clermont-Ferrand. François has a passion for volunteering in his community and enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters.
